BYE BYE TO THE GRAND OLD LADY OF KALLANG

Finally, the day has come, the saluting of our icon for the last time, 30th June 2007 marks the closing ceremony for the National Stadium located at Kallang. One of Singapore's iconic landmarks will host its final event (friendly soccer match between Singapore and Australia, 0-3) before it makes way for the construction of the new Sports Hub ready in 2011.

Since its official opening on 21 July 1973, the National Stadium has seen many sports and non-sports events, and distinguished visitors. It carries with it a rich history and has played an important role in nation building. It is a standing testament to how sports and sports venues play a crucial role in bonding our people.

i felt something for the stadium as i was then a part of them too. During my industrial attachment, i was posted with SSC and it was during the period of NDP. i was there to see the rehearsals, the shouting of correctness / tidiness, the setting up of stage, the nation's different national songs, the cleaning up and not forgeting the 'gatal-ness' of the abang2 army and police.

i am proud of the stadium as it held up lots of memories for the nation especially during the Malaysia Cup era which Singapore emerge champion and the wonderful and beautiful National Day Parade which i think the participants that march during the parade should be proud of themselves as this opportunity does comes easily and to anyone.

i had a great time becoming an intern at SSC. people out there might not know abt this, there's actually a museum at the stadium and many more like, public gym, sports library, sports medicine and sports science centre and so on..
i went to all of them. hehe.. i did tour the whole place and its surroundings. interesting but sadly, nobody cares. the stadium is dead with only NDP, SYF and some soccer events to light up the place.

i will definitely miss the kallang roar, kallang waves and the atmosphere of the kallang stadium.

anyway, the new sports hub is taking over and i hope that this hub will be a better use in future. lets all make Singapore a Sport hub to be recognise. i hope that the new stadium will be filled with the new generation of Lions with its roar, OLE! and the hub will be in use for national events.

fun.. tiring.. havoc..

i self-posted myself to ECS Clinic 1&2 today

since i was at Clinic A yesterday, i decided to try out at the different section.

ECS is fast pace as it is the main place for patient registration and consultation. there's lots of patients, mainly the elder ones.

i had fun attending to the patients bcoz they ask lots for questions. i like to talk to them, smile at them. makes you feel happy and satisfy with your work. today am a Chinese girl bcoz my fellow clerks and 'anty' talk to me in Mandarin. haha, some sort here and there i can understand lah. i make new friends and im happy rather than 'yesterday girl'

below is my experince today

today's case:

1) patient complain about the fee, gst thingy, saying why the notice didnt state for private or subsidies patient (so particular)

2) 2 old man arguing (no-shame ar)

3) an old man tells me he cant just urinate for the urine test and ask if there's anything that can make him urine (uncle-uncle =shake head)

4) patients don't know how to press the ticketing machine (must press hard-hard and wait long-long)

5) daughter force mom the drink water to pee (mom is so stubborn)

it was a tiring day as there is no time for you to rest and seat down. i had lots of blister on my feet and that hurts to the max and imaging standing for 5hrs..! its killing me. i got no black covered shoe to wear so i wore either a tight or a loose shoe. i know, that sucks and i bear with it for 2days!

so people, pls donate me a pair of black shoe.

its been some time since i last wrote.

anyway, im here to tell u something,
IM HIRED!!
(alhamdulillah)
(i would like to thank my Family and Close Friends for supporting me in getting a job. u all the putus2 give me the semangat i needed, to countinue on sending my resume and interview. to the advise me of wat to wear for interview, marah me to make me stop stressing, i love u all.)

after months and days of sending out many many of my resume, atlast, an interview was called.

i'll be working at Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)
As a front line person, customer service. Dealing with registration, payment.....

im so happy in getting this job coz i waited for nearly 2mths for a job.
i thing customer service is good enough. i get to meet people, interact with them. thats what i like, like to talk. haha. and its offices hours, so i still get to meet my friends and hang out on weekends freely.

so anyway, im starting work 28june 2007. so people, do visit me if u'r around that area. oh, its located at Outram, beside SGH.

(to my close frens, we shall go out one day for SNAP and MILO DINAUSOUR as promised by me)

escape theme park

ytd me and some frens went to the theme park at Pasir Ris
althought there's only 7 of us, it was quite noisy actually.
the entrance fee was $16.50 per person bt bcoz of Dennis, each of us paid $4.50.
he got a few $6 coupons so we make use of it all. (sape ckp msk theme park bayar $6 AJE..?)
sophia suppose to join us bt she's sick. (too bad girl, u miss the fun.. opps, u miss the selengers)

so anyway, we tried almost all the rides, even the kids ride, which some that we can fit in lah.
the rides are:

pepsi (i and nana laughing throughtout the spinning ride)
viking (i curl myself coz i cant stand the butterflies in my stomach)
water slide (i sat infront and nana behind. nana whole body was wet. shahreen tasted the water splashing in. i shouted sophia's name in the 'terowong')
rainbow (i didn't participate, too dizzy already)
go krat (i drive!! didn't hit on anyone. my legs were too short for the engine. stepping on the brake all the way down the slope)
haunted house (i dare not open my eyes!! it was close throughout the walk. i can't wait for the walk to end. lots of unnecessary screaming. nana, beware of wat u hold on to)
space ring (didn't want to be on it, bt i can't resist)
eat (we took pics, BK again)
viking (again!! our fav. this time, we took video cam. natasha no feeling, she's cool. shahreen we saw yr face, it was cramp to the max)
family roller coster (hahahaha.. monsters on the ride. they still fit in the the sits bt later on, conplain the backaches and uncomfortable. me and shahreen didnt join them, too dizzy)

i am still dizzy till nw!! after the whole spinning ride, i bough 'buah asam' to keep me away from the spinning world.

that's it. fun day. funny outing. silly people.

Should I or should I not..?

I love running (even with ankle injuries, I don't care)
I sooo want to be part of the track family.
Bt the thing is I don't want to be in the sch's team.
I heard that nw the training has been separated to girl and boys team.
That is wat I like, separate training. With boys ard, I stress. I prefer females only.
Girls will be lead by ms Christy and boys, who else..
Ms Christy is soooo fun, I like her training.
As x-country is around the corner, the team trained in sch and at reservoir.
Cool rite.. so jealous.

So tell me, should I join BACK the track team..?

friday afternoon meet my girls to do proj at national library.
me, nana and nunu je. like usual, janji kul brp, dtg kul brp..
sophia got floorball and suppose to meet us for buke, but her training finish late and she had stomachache. so we three proceed without her..
(so sad u were not with us..)

nana was suggesting to buke at tekka, thosai.
so me and nunu just follow the flow.
she was so semangat, telling us that tekka was her childhood town.. (haha, sajak lah tu nana.. tekka.. u.. haha)

oleh kerana takot kite reach tekka lambat, we bought drinks at 7eleven first.
den when we reach tekka, we decide to eat thosai yg kat bawah tangga.

nana: ar... ni lah childhood place aku.. welcome to tekka.
nunu: eh, tempat ni takde New York pizza eh?
me: otak kau pizza! ni tempat traditional, kau mintak western

and nana is like the tour guide.. telling us where she use to leave, use to sch.. ect.
den we reach the thosai shop.
nana: tempat ni legend tau nurul, dari aku kecil sampai besar.
me: a ar.. makcik pakcik nenek aku semua suke dtg sini
and nunu just listening to us coz she know nuts abt tekka.

memandang kan ramai sangat org nak makan thosai,
we decided to eat at the hawker centre FIRST while waiting for a seat at the shop.
nunu suggested sup kambing bt end up we bought rojak also.
(kate nak alas perut, tapi order mcm2)

this was wat we encounter there:
-a malay couple share table with us and we talk, they laugh
-behind us, the grp of teens is the same grp that we meet when we were bukeing at bugis

so i told them, since we eat here already, dont need for the second round, thosai
bt nana nak sangat makan thosai and she say she not full yet.
so we make our way to the thosai place and found a seat.

nurul was like sooooo jakun..
she was looking for suji to eat bt end up didnt buy any.
(mcm paham je si nurul ni nak mnk suji.. hehe)

so we ordered 2 teh tarik 1 holicks
1 paper thosai 1 thosai gee
sedap like mad...
licih makan eventhough we already eat sup kambing and rojak

after makan, walk to along the street to see some lights and shopping.
when to Mustafa Centre also.
hmmm... tiring day indeed.

oh, not forgeting, all the way, we were laughing like mad!!

My ITE result is out.

Sucks...

Was expecting at least 3 for GPA.
6mth left of school.
Dont know if can make it to Republic Poly
At least 3.5 to poly, 2.9 is such a long way

I dont know wat im gonna do after ITE.
Work..? NO!! im not ready to work.
I still want to study.

oh anyway, I met my sec sch fren,
Inshira at TTSH the other time..
Catch some things up with her..
So excited to have met her, my buddy.

it was a tough fight with rockie cool guy, Jonathon
hady, 26, sweet and romantic.. oh, boyish!
RnB guy with a smoothing voice

glad that he won. nw everybody can sleep in peace. i voted for him 7times. haha.. 7x$0.60=$4.20 hmmm.. its worth. anyway 2-3hrs before the annoucing of the results, rumours was that hady votes is much lesser that Jonathon, bt it was a close figth. dont know how true it was. then, hady 48.5% jon 51%.. something like that.. so i started to sms and calling ppl to vote. hey, 1 vote makes a different ok. some say that singtel sent out the msg, contacts from mediacorp say hady is lesser. i dont know if its true or not bt wat matter is, Hady is the WINNER!!!

had my Sports Administation Management(SAM) exam on thursday afternoon
the one and only writen exam this semester. the other two is my attacthment which i scored B (dont know is its a higher or lower B)and my Life-Skills module which i pass.
in all, three module this semester
so two down, one more to go
for my SAM project and CAs im at B grade, nw waiting for the combination of the writen exam.
im trying to maintain my grades.
STRESS...!!

so i got around 1mth holiday and i intending to work.
work work work
no money already, so many things want to buy and pay
haiz... money money money

anyway, i'hv already been given the first Event Management project to do..
i like event coordination, management. its really challenging and stressful to held an event. its not as easy as u see it.
many things needs consideration.
i'hv conduct some events in the past, and im confident my group can make it for this project. im ready for it!!
im aiming A for this project. im going to do it all out.

it's a group work lah..
so wat ever came across my mind, im writing it down.
like always, doing wif my 3 other close frens. this will be the second time work together again.
so our sports is Xcountry.. only two groups to one sport.
our competitor is very competitive. so here i am, not going to be demoralise but to show others wat im capable of.
ok lah, quite interesting. cant wait to get going!! haha

m0nday 11sep06, went to visit jujuk wif mama
stayed there for the whole day.
she was admitted in ward 11c.
on 9sep06, a malay girl was admitted and underwent an open appendicectomy surgery to remove her swollen n inflamed appendics.
Khadijah, a TP student, my age and very 'Islamic'
she is two beds away from my jujuk, so i went up to her and started introducing myself.
haha.. as usual, me, asal-boleh je.. anyway, she turns out very friendly..

get to know her.. wow!! such an interesting lady..
she's the 9th child out of 10,
a madrasah girl & a member of 'Muslim Society' in TP where she nw studying Diploma in BioSci.
in a few sec, we both mcm dah kenal lame sangat gitu..

den her fren , hadzirah came to visit her..
her food came bt she didnt want to eat and soon she complain tat she's hungry
anyway, my mom bought me chicken rice and i offered her to share it wif me.
selera sikit tekak dier dapat makan nasi ayam..
nothing much happen tat day bt taking photos is a must for me.

oh, anyway, my jujuk kene transfer to ward 12c.
transfering her was this cute guy!!!
which happen to be my mom's fren son.. hahahaha

reach early to present bt no teacher was there..
nurul presentation was at 11.30am, mine 11.45am, nana 12pm
bt end up presenting at 12.25pm
haiz.. Mr Hanson, my new class advisor. wat a sarcastic man..

after presentation, ate 'mee tom yam' & 'teh peng' at cafe 2
den straight proceed to the library to study for our upcoming exam
bt like usual.. book is open, hand holding pen bt mind is on something else
more talking and laughing and photo taking rather den studying
wat do u expect, more den 2months of not seeing each other and gossiping..
miss dat alot..
we did study bt end up talking abt 'matters of the heart' wif each other
haha.. packed up and when to stadium to watch soccer match.

saw Ariff at the stadium, sat together and i bullied him..
haha.. padan muke..

anyway ladies, miss the 'sharing of problems'..

hmmm... tueday morning.. kakak is still sick.
went to the clinic for the second time, again!
i was still in bed, wake up bt haven get up
still lying in bed, den she came up to me;

kakak: eh, kau nak makan maggie?
me: maggie ape?
kakak: asam laksa
me: huh..? asam..? tak nak lah..
kakak: huh..? seram?
kakak: asal kau seram?
me: tak lah, aku tak nak lah klw asam laksa
me: sape kate seram, aku kate aku tak nak lah

it was quite funny lah..
coz i said 'asam' and my sis heard 'seram'
anyway, i dont eat laksa, and asam+laksa..
no for me
and anyway also, asam+laksa, seems scary rite..?
tat's y i also seram to eat..haha
actually i know there is asam laksa maggie coz i saw it
bt i still ask kakak coz i thought she just bought other favour
coz its like weird lah asam laksa,
i dont dare to eat so i thought she wont dare also lah

so anyway, she sat down and eat,
i look at her wif a 'biar betol budak ni nak mkn ni maggie' face
so she ate peacefully and soon the plate left only the prawn shell.

wow..!! she finished it..?
i was shocked, maybe asam laksa is nice..

so after lazing around, watch vcd, i asked her;

me: eh kak, tadi kau mkn asam laksa tu, sedap?
kakak: arrrrr...(her face was like cramp) ok lah.
bt the asam is soooo assam.. dah mcm 'mamak' nye rase..

hahahha... i knew it, she sure got something to say abt the food
i was like laughing all the way, funny sey..

all didnt want to hurt each other that's y i dare say, till now, were r not apart.
all understand each other, all would listen to each other tales, all will help each other.

among the 4 of us,
sophia is the oldest den nana den me den nurul
me the noisy one, nurul the loud one, sophia the quiet one and nana would just follow the flow
nana is the darkest den sophia/me den nurul (hahahaahha)

there's alot for me to say abt them.. im grateful to have them.

once, there is this person came up to us and said,
"if i were to combine all of u together, i would form one perfect lady"
y..? bcoz of the personality he sees in us, how we took care of each other.

went out today
my mom wants to jln2 so we ajak wani's family along
went to TM, the best part is we entered O.A.M.C
everything was selling at $5 & $10
so i bought two shirts, both $10, both green, both my mom pick
den went to eat at food culture
as usual, took some photos

25aug. my mom's bday.
my family, wani's family and cik raisah family went to celebrate.
oh yar, Fahmi bday too, bt his was 22aug.
every year we celebrate together.
this year we went to 'Eatzi Steak House and Bistro'
haha.. cool place, nice and quite
bt as usual, kite lah yg buat memekak kat situ, ketawa kan org lah, ape lagi.. haha
its similar to Swensens lah but Eatzi 'fish& chip' is very nice. try it!
so while waiting for the rest and the ordering, we cousins took photos of each other
haha, perasan lah kite kite ni semue.. mcm model mane lah..
oh yar, one of the the waiter there named Fahmi also, den there's this one time when my fahmi nak order air, the waiter fahmi walked pass and we called him.
"Excuse me Fahmi, Fahmi ni (pointing to my cousin) nak order air root beer"
den one of his manager turn and look at us and said,
"oh, ni pon Fahmi"
den we cousins starts smiling and laughing at each other..
den for the whole stay there, the waiter Fahmi has been layaning kite.
haha.. cute sey.. according to we cousins, that Fahmi should get 'good service award' for layaning us (mcm nak giler budak tu layan kite, dah lah kite ni order mcm2, bising pulak tu)
